The Fitzalan is a popular student accommodation in Cardiff, close to the city centre, within walking distance of Cardiff University and the University of South Wales, Cardiff Campus. All rooms in the flats are carefully laid out with high-quality facilities, fully furnished with bedding to help students quickly settle into their new surroundings. Numerous communal facilities allow students to enjoy themselves indoors as well. 

 

Features

Fitzalan Cardiff offers two room types for students: the Non-En-suite, suitable for friends or couples staying together, and the Studio, which is independent and ideal for those who love their privacy. Whichever you choose, private bedrooms are provided, containing comfortable double beds, sturdy and durable desks and chairs, handy storage boxes and spacious wardrobes. All equipment is also provided in the kitchen and living room, including a fridge, oven, microwave, sofa, coffee table, dining table and TV.

 

As you step outside, you are greeted by the luxurious and spacious social hall in Fitzalan Cardiff. Here, we offer a variety of complimentary communal facilities. You can work up a sweat in our state-of-the-art gym. Students who like to party can enjoy gaming facilities such as PS5 and Xbox One together in the game room or have a tense and exciting game of table tennis in the hall. If you prefer to focus on your things in a quiet environment, you can go to the particular study room to finish your homework or create a new work in the music studio. And remember to keep an eye on the notices at the entrance to the cinema room for the daily schedule of film screenings.

 

Location and What's Hot? 

The Fitzalan Cardiff is located on the east side of the city centre and is surrounded by amenities. Within a 10-minute walk are the UK's leading supermarkets, Tesco, Sainsbury's and M&S, as well as Asian supermarkets such as La Mart Asian Supermarket and Yongjia Supermarket, and for those who don't feel like cooking, the neighbourhood offers a wide choice of restaurants, such as JD Wetherspoon, Steak of the Art, and Lilo's Pasta are local favourites. When you're looking for a fun weekend, Morgan Quarter, Castle Quarter, St David's Dewi Sant and the Royal Arcade make up the premier shopping experience in the area. There are more than 200 shops, encompassing a wide range of areas such as designer clothing, appraised goods, leisure and entertainment, electronics and much more. 

 

Transport

Just downstairs from the flat is the Fitzalan Place Bus Stop for quick access to various locations in the city. The University of Cardiff is only a 13-minute walk away, the University of South Wales, Cardiff Campus is a 10-minute walk away, and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David is a 15-minute walk away. Cardiff Metropolitan University is a little further away, 29 minutes on the 124 bus. If you want to travel to other cities, Cardiff Queen Street train station is a 4-minute walk away.

The Fitzalan supports a 24-hour reception and CCTV system that is always in operation. The free WIFI makes sure everyone is connected to the network.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

Prospective international students who have applied to attend a University or a Higher Education Institution in any of the cities in which Homes for Students operates, and who book a room with Homes for Students, will be allowed to be released from their Tenancy Agreement if they do not receive the entry Visa they require for their study in the UK and evidence is provided.

Only new customers who have never lived at a Homes for Students property are eligible.

If a customer does not receive the entry Visa they require for their study in the UK and wishes to be released from their Tenancy Agreement, they must provide Homes for Students with evidence of their refusal of entry to the UK to study no later than 7 days after notification of their refusal.

Evidence can be a copy of the letter from the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration service or other official Visa issuing body as well as a letter from the university, sponsor or institution where they were supposed to be studying. It must clearly show the student's full name, address and date of issue. This can be emailed to salesenquiries@wearehomesforstudents.com or posted to Homes for Students, 3 Clock Tower Park, Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, Liverpool, L10 1LD.
Customers who do not apply to be released from their Tenancy Agreement within this timescale will be bound by the terms and conditions set out in the Tenancy Agreement.

No Place No Pay

Prospective first year students who have applied to attend a University or a Higher Education Institution in any of the cities in which Homes for Students operates, and who book a room with Homes for Students, will be allowed to be released from their Tenancy Agreement if, as a result of not achieving the required A-Level, Scottish Higher (or equivalent) results, they do not gain a place at their chosen university and evidence is provided.

Only new customers who have never lived at a Homes for Students property are eligible.

If a customer does not gain a place at their chosen University or College and wishes to be released from their Tenancy Agreement, they must provide Homes for Students with evidence of their rejection and evidence of the reason why (proof of results achieved etc) no later than 3 working days after their results day.

Evidence can be a written rejection letter from the University/College/UCAS, or a screen shot of the customer's UCAS status along with the results etc. This can be emailed to salesenquiries@wearehomesforstudents.com or posted to Homes for Students, Clock Tower Park, Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley, Liverpool, L10 1LD.

Customers who do not apply to be released from their Tenancy Agreement within this timescale and provide the correct evidence will be bound by the terms and conditions set out in the Tenancy Agreement.

Refund Guarantees Time Limit

7 days cooling off period
You can cancel your booking up to 7 days after you accept your offer or pay your deposit, providing you have not already moved in to the property and the apartment will refund your security deposit in full. Deposits will normally be refunded within 28 working days of cancellation, however the legal obligation as a landlord is to secure all deposits with a third party protection scheme. In the event that your deposit has already been sent to the protection scheme by the time you cancel your booking, your refund could take up to 60 days to be refunded due to the protection scheme's processing period and your deposit refund will come directly from them - you will need your repayment ID which will be sent to you directly by the protection scheme. If the deposit has already been sent to the deposit protection scheme, then the apartment is unable to influence their processing time.

2.Out of Initial Cancellation Period
If you cancel your booking after the 7 day Initial Cancellation Period, you will remain liable for the weekly rent (for each and every week or part week) until the apartment is able to re-let the room. If they are able to re-let the room they will release you from the agreement upon payment of a £50 variation of contract fee which they will recover by retaining part or all of your deposit. If you have paid a lower deposit amount, that's the amount that will be retained.
